| Day One Hometown to Hanmer Springs Dinner Fly from your hometown to Christchurch where you are met at the airport by your guide & driver. We travel north through the North Canterbury townships of Kaiapoi and Amberley before turning onto SH7 and heading for Hanmer Springs. Hanmer Springs Scenic View Motel 3 nightsDay Two Molesworth Station Tour Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Joining the Molesworth Heritage Tour, depart Hanmer Springs to travel to the Clarence Valley and onto Acheron Valley and the 150 year old Cob Homestead. Following the river north, passing grazing livestock and through amazing landscape of mixed flora & fauna the tour takes you into the Awatere Valley and onto the famous Molesworth Homestead area nestled under the Kaikoura mountain range making a stop for lunch and refreshments at the Old Molesworth Cottage. The afternoon returns through Saxton, Muller and Tarndale country with everchanging vistas of growth, colour and climate before descending the historic and rugged Jollies Pass Road to Hanmer Springs. Day Three Hanmer SpringsBreakfast, DinnerToday join the exciting and thrilling Amuri Jet for a ride on the Waiau River. The jet boat explores the smaller braids of the Hanmer Springs Basin, discovers the fault line at Marble Point, travels the Waiau Gorge and takes in the majestic mountain scenery. An adventure not to miss. This afternoon explore the Heritage Forest Park before enjoy a soak at the award winning Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa. The complex has a range of thermal pools including three sulphur pools, aqua therapy pools to ease the aches & pains, and a freshwater lap pool. |
Day Four Hanmer Springs to KaikouraBreakfast, Lunch, DinnerLeaving Hanmer Springs we head north to Kaikoura. Enjoy a ‘Lavender Planters’ lunch at Lavendyl Farm and explore the rustic gardens. Visit the award winning Kaikoura Museum and discover the districts natural, social and cultural journey. The museums modern and contemporary environment highlights the areas fascinating connection with the sea. Sudima Hotel, Kaikoura 1 nightDay Five Kaikoura to BlenheimBreakfast, DinnerToday we visit the Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust, established in 2008 with the goal of rehabilitation, education, and care for and breeding young for release from those who can’t survive on their own in the wild. The Falcon Encounter is an experience not to be missed.Scenic Hotel, Blenheim 2 nightsDay Six Pelorus Sounds Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Join the Pelorus Mail Boat for a truly unique experience. Operating for more than a century, the Mail Run has carried mail, along with groceries and farming supplies creating a lifeline to the outside world for those living in areas with no road access. Enjoy the cruise through the largest, quietest and most remote part of the Marlborough Sounds.
