Even if you are only travelling domestically within New Zealand, travel insurance may provide cover and benefits for such things as trip cancellation, flight delays or missed connections. 

CoverMore's domestic plan is for New Zealand residents, travelling within New Zealand, if your destination is more than 100 kilometres or more from your home, and your trip includes at least one night paid accommodation booked with an accommodation supplier or provider.

When purchasing travel insurance, make sure you carefully read the insurance policy & FAQs to understand what is & is not covered, especially when it comes to Covid-19. Scenarios that were covered in the past may no longer be included, so it is important to take the time to check.

Cover-More YourCover policy for travel within New Zealand includes but is not limited to: 

$10,000 Cancellation cover, amendments and additional expenses
$3,000 Missed connections
$750 Travel delay
$2,000 Special Events
Medical, luggage, and rental car insurance excess

Cover for some pre-existing medical conditions are automatically covered. Conditions not covered automatically need to be assessed and an additional premium may be payable. Please refer to pages 26-33 of the Cover-More brochure for a list of automatically covered conditions. If your condition is not listed and you would like to apply for cover, please contact us for further information. An online medical assessment will need to be completed.
